Three Piece Life
A coaching programme for real balance
Why work with me?
You might be doing well on paper - progressing in your career, meeting expectations, delivering results - while quietly running out of space to think, breathe, or reconnect with what matters.
Many people are.
We’ve built the CVs, hit the targets, and kept going.
But somewhere along the way, leadership became about holding it all together rather than living it coherently.
The Three Piece Life offers a different way forward, not by restoring balance, but by addressing the deeper strain of living as separate selves.
Three Piece Life come from
three models of working
Paid work
your career,
income,
professional identity
Unpaid work
caregiving,
volunteering,
mentoring,
contribution
Simple pleasures
the joy-giving
pursuits that make
life rich and real
This isn’t about quitting your job or escaping to the woods. It’s about making conscious choices and living one life that reflects what matters to you.
The hidden cost of modern leadership
Many people are doing well on paper.
The roles are senior. The responsibilities are real. The expectations are being met.
And yet, behind the scenes, something is quietly wearing people down.
Leadership today often asks us to be:
- composed and capable at work
- present and available at home
- privately resilient everywhere else
We call this balance.
In reality, it’s fragmentation.
When people are forced to live as separate selves, leadership becomes exhausting and eventually brittle. Burnout follows. Confidence turns performative. Change feels heavier than it needs to be.
This isn’t a failure of character.
It’s a failure of the way we think about leadership.
The Three Piece Life
The Three Piece Life names a pattern many leaders live without ever choosing.
A life split into:
- a professional self that performs
- a personal self that carries responsibility
- a private self that rarely has space
Most advice tells us to manage these pieces better. To balance them. To optimise them.
That advice misses the point.
The real strain doesn’t come from time pressure or workload. It comes from constantly switching who you are.
Leadership improves when people stop fragmenting themselves and start integrating one life.
“We should all have the chance
to live the life that’s right for us.”
